Gilt-decorated cloth lightly scuffed and slightly marked; edges a little foxed; a very good copy with the dustwrapper a little sunned and slightly rubbed. Introductory essay by Lord David Cecil. Essentially a facsimile of a family album, the subjects also include Alfred Lord Tennyson, G.F. Watts, Mrs Herbert Duckworth (the eventual mother of Virginia Woolf and Vanessa Bell), Earl Somers, Lewis Carroll and Oscar Gustav Rejlander.

'From 1952-1955, Klaus Ullrich studied at the Werkkunstschule Düsseldorf and later taught at the Kunst- und Werkschule Pforzheim. As can be seen from his designs, he considered gold to be the central material of his jewelry design. Geometric forms were the basis of his compositions. In turn, he set accents with the help of stones, gold wire, silver, steel and bone' (Quittenbaum website).
