African Hunter
Finecke, Bror Von Blixen 248 pp, 26 half tone illustrations. Author was one of the professional hunters to accompany Ernest Hemingway. Excellent elephant hunting chapters incl much on tracking tuskers in what is now Zaire. Sought after work. "Blix" was also the husband of Isak Dinesen. This first BRITISH edition (i.e. first ed in English) is very scarce. VG+ to Near fine, yellow cloth showing light soiling, internally near fine.- $700

This is the special very limited edition, (only 500 copies) bound in FULL elephant hide leather, all edges gilt and in an original custom box. It is signed by both Peter Capstick and Wally Johnson. Signed by both Capstick and Johnson and additionally inscribed by "Wally." Then briefly inscribed to someone by original recipient. Book is very near fine and box is fine.- $600

W.N. McMillin’s Expeditions and Big Game Hunting in Southerm Sudan, Abyssinia and East Africa
Jessen, B. 415 pp, 112 ill, pull out rear pocket map. Jessen was an ardent hunter and made many trips through African game countries. He was a friend of most noted sportsmen of the day, including the McMillins. It is estimated that only about 200 copies were printed. Near fine in orig. red gilt cloth. Four major trips hunting in East Africa, Sudan, and Abyssinia for all large and small plains game. With the small oval initial bookplate of noted collector Humphrey Winterton and engraved bookplate of another collector and then someone from same family write their name and year acquired.
