Includes Section 9, "Of the Existence of Negro Slavery in the United States, and of the British Abolition of the Slave Trade" pp. 306-424. Full old sheep boards re-backed. Back in six compartments, gilt lettered in the second and third, five gilt roll tooled raised bands, gilt date at foot. Good+ with wear to edges, corners and extremities of the boards. Sheets age toned and with some wear, stains, and minor fray to some fore edges, some sections darkened. Proper repair to the title page tear and to one corner of rear free endpaper. Old sepia ink Lecomte family names and records on title and four sheets of the Preface, Contents and Mementos, including erasure damage making oval shaped .5 inch x 1.5 inch loss on the Mementos sheet.
