Original vintage Intourist travel poster for Odessa printed for the Soviet State travel company Intourist (founded 1929) featuring great artwork depicting people on the grand staircase leading from the city to the harbour below, the Potemkin Steps / Potemkin Stairs (opened 1841), looking towards ships at port on the calm sea with trains on a busy railway track and a large red Soviet flag with a hammer and sickle and star on it flying over the scene in the foreground, the ropes leading down to the bold stylised Art Deco lettering below, the Intourist logo and text in the border. Located on the Black Sea in Ukraine, the historic port city of Odessa ("the pearl of the Black Sea") is a popular tourist destination and major maritime hub.
