18x13 cm. 2 volumes in 1 bound in a beautiful full leather presentation binding by Relfe Brothers of Aldersgate, London. It was presented as an award by St. Stanislaus College, Beaumont in Berkshire, England to Cuthbert Greene in 1890. The binding has the name of the school gilt on the front cover, gilt dentelles, and a gilt-stamped spine with a morocco spine label. AEG. 302, 395 pp. There are text illustrations and no plates.

Street index, key to major buildings, railroads and trolley lines. It is quite possible that this was removed from a city directory, though there is nothing in the title to confirm that, nor are there any clear points of attachment to a book. The plates are printed on smaller (11x7 cm.) paper and depict notable buildings in Flushing, Queens at the western tip of Long Island. Pages 179-180 are a business directory of Flushing. 87x127 cm. Wall map with no rods, restored. Varnish removed, modern linen backing. Excellent condition except for light staining near top edge and some loss to the top of the view of Robert Martsch's house at the top left corner. Full color by school district. Kinderhook is noted as the home of Martin Van Buren, 8th President of the United States. His house, Lindenwald, is named in the southwest area of the town, though it is not among the 16 inset building views around the edges. Van Buren passed away in Kinderhook in 1862, so he was living at this home at the time this map was made. He is named on the map as Ex-Presdt. Martin Van Buren. Among the building views is a large one showing the shop of a daguerrotypist, J. T. Nichols. This was less than 20 years after the invention of the daguerrotype. Published by Richard Clark, who produced many other large maps of towns and counties. Drawn by Benjamin A. Clark. While likely not unique as maps such as this were published in signficant numbers for subscribers in the town, this map is nonetheless currently not recorded in OCLC or the catalogue of the Library of Congress. 22.6x15 cm. Printed wrappers, spine splitting. Worn, with corners turned and wrappers loose. 36 pp., folding key to the Cyclorama. This was the program and guide for visitors to the Boston edition of Paul Philippoteaux's grand cyclorama of the Battle of Gettysburg. Housed in Boston on the Moody and Sankey Tabernacle Site, on Tremont Street between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets, the panorama was 450 feet long and 50 feet wide. This map was available as a premium to listeners of that radio show who sent in a certain numbers of labels from Ovaltine, the show's sponsor. The map was drawn by Keith Ward, best know from his illustrations of the Dick and Jane reading primers. He was also responsible for Elsie the Cow and Elmer of Elmer's Glue. Unillustrated promotional piece from Jay Cooke & Company of Philadelphia for bonds of the Northern Pacific Railroad. The Northern Pacific had been chartered in 1864 and had begun construction in 1870. The text promotes the financial benefits of these 7.3% bonds as well as touting the Northern Pacific in general. 21x14 cm. Contemporary full calf, well worn, with crude buckram spine. Contents shaken, some leaves possibly missing. Approximately 300 pages. While the title above reflects what is on the title page here, this is actually a much larger compilation of rate schedules, printed memos, rules and general instructions for conductors. This was likely put together by a conductor to preserve company rates and instructions. There are notes and memos from other railroads associated with the CCC& I, including the Indianapolis & St. Louis, Louisville & Southern, Lake Shore & MIchigan Southern, and the Dayton & Union. Chipping at edges and corners, with tears to some pages. Lacks title page/preface and portrait of Roger Conner, both present in photocopy. Ex-NYPL. 100, 12 pp., with the last 12 pages being a catalogue of Spalding's line of baseball equipment. The very poor quality of the paper used leads to chipping at the edges and corners. This is a fairly early work on baseball techniques, as well as being an early catalogue dedicated to baseball equipment. The text provides an index for place names on the maps with thumbnail descriptions of larger towns, along with many ads for inns, restaurants, garages, etc. throughout New York State aimed at automobile travelers. Congressional Pugilists
N.A. 15.9x22.2 cm. Uncolored separately issued print in good condition only, with the top right corner missing, affecting only the blank margin. Several short mended tears at edges. This is almost certainly the restrike by John McAllister, Jr. around 1860 as the the paper is not consistent with that used around 1798 when the first states of this print were issued. The imprint also appears to be weaker than would be seen on an early strike. This famous cartoon depicts a physical brawl on the floor of the House of Representatives in 1798, between Federalist Roger Griswold and Jeffersonian Republican Matthew Lyon. The fight was instigated by an insulting statement that Griswold made to Lyon. The print depicts Griswold armed with a cane, kicking Lyon, who is tugging at Griswold's arm while attacking him with fireplace tongs. Over a dozen onlookers are shown, including Speaker Jonathan Dayton, Clerk Jonathan W. Condy, and Chaplain Ashbel Green (each identified in the plate). Captioned lower right "Congress Hall / in Philada. Feb. 15, 1798 / S.E. Cor. 6th & Chesnut St."- $450

Marcovici 83.5x23 cm. Vertical format folding panorama of the Yser River in original brown printed stiff wrappers, 12x25 cm. The wrappers are good, with bumping at sides and corners. The panorama itself is in very good condition, with small tears and weakness along folds. There is a label for a contemporary Brussels souvenir shop. Light soiling at edges. Bright chromolithographic pictorial map showing the Yser River in western Belgium from the North Sea to Ypres. 37 inset views of notable points along the river. There is text along the sides with descriptions of the river, towns and World War I battles which occured in this region. The text on the map and wrappers is in English. The copy of this piece in the Belgian National LIbrary (KBR) has this text in French, but is otherwise unchanged.- $250
