Edges of marbled paper darkened, but slight wear only, with hinges strong. Evidently from a uniformly bound set of first editions, but not numbered as part of a sequence within that set.

French, Daniel Chester George Leon Varney for a volume entitled "Favorite Poems of Famous People" (Vaughan Publishing Co., Chicago. 1910) wrote to luminaries in many fields requesting their favorite poems. This is Daniel Chester French's reply to him, with three choices."I have so many favorites". A fine copy of the book is included. The typed letter is dated August 27, 1909. It is on Chesterwood stationary and signed in ink.- $800
