Second corrected edition. Three volumes, two text volumes 29.4 x 23 cms and a folio atlas 57 x 44 cms, the text volumes lacking the frontispieces, but otherwise complete with 27 engravings (one of the Camellia Sasanqua full-page): [iii]-xxxiv, 518 pages and [iii]-xx, 626 pages (including two Appendices), the folio atlas complete with 44 maps and full-page plates, (including one folding Chart and 6 double-page maps); the text volumes in contemporary gilt-ruled calf (a little scuffed), re-backed, the folio in modern half calf, the hinges of each volume strengthened with olive binders' tape, a few leaves in the text volumes a little age-toned, but otherwise in very good, clean condition, three plates in the text volumes rather spotted and 6 of the charts with a marginal tide-mark, three with a neat paper repair to the verso (not affecting the image), but otherwiise in very good, clean condition, with the armorial bookplate of soldier and Whig politician General Campbell of Lochnell (1763-1837) on the marbled pastedowns of each volume.
