First edition, first printing. Published by Heinemann in London, 1935. This is a very good copy. Without the dust wrapper. The deep blue clothbound boards are slightly bumped at the spine tips and corners. The titling is bright and the spine is slightly sunned. The text blocks are markedly bright and clean. The end papers, wonderfully illustrated throughout, are highly presentable but with some light toning in places. The text blocks are slightly foxed, which extends to the edges of the preliminaries. Small gift inscription to the front pastedown and is in near fine condition. Most likely Masefield's best work.

A first edition, first printing published by Cassell in 1941. A very good with previous owner's bookplate to the front endpaper. Spotting throughout and to the page edges. No inscriptions. In a very good (much better than is usually encountered) dust wrapper which is unclipped and has one small chip to the head of the front panel and two smaller chips to the rear panel. Spotting to the rear panel. "Into Battle" is a collection of stirring wartime speeches and essays by Winston Churchill, reflecting his leadership during World War II. A first edition, first printing published by The Bodley Head in 1952. A very good book with slight bumping and fading to the tips of the spine, as well as shadowing of the title therein. No inscriptions whatsoever. In a very good, unclipped wrapper with chipping to the spine tips. Wear and chipping to the edges and corners. Small, neat tape repairs can be seen on the reverse. The inspiration behind the 1960 film of the same name (Spartacus.obviously).
Endless Night
First edition, first printing. Published by Collins Crime Club, London, in 1967. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper, designed by Kenneth Farnhill, is price clipped but otherwise near fine. The text blocks are bright and white throughout and it is free from previous owner's ink. Endless Night was one of Christie's favourites of her own works which received some of the warmest critical acclaim of her career upon publication.

A pair of first editions from the subjects of the movie, 'Rush'. 'To Hell and Back' - a first edition, first printing published by Stanley Paul in 1986 (small gift inscription) near fine in near fine unclipped wrapper. 'Against All Odds' - a first edition, first printing published by Hamlyn in 1977. A very good book in very, lightly edgeworn dust wrapper with a closed tear. Niki Lauda and James Hunt shared a complex rivalry intertwined with respect and admiration. Their fierce competition in Formula 1 during the 1970s captivated fans worldwide. Lauda, methodical and precise, represented disciplined excellence, while Hunt embodied the flamboyant, daring spirit of racing. Despite their contrasting personalities, they developed a mutual understanding and even friendship off the track. Their intense battles on circuits like Nürburgring and Fuji Speedway became legendary, culminating in the 1976 season, where Lauda's near-fatal crash and subsequent return highlighted their bond. Shrek!
A first edition, first printing published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 1990. A near fine book without inscriptions. Corners a touch bumped, but in lovely condition. Notably filmed in 2001. The film adaptation of Shrek expanded upon the original book's premise and introduced a wide array of colourful characters and a unique, self-aware style of storytelling. It embraced a satirical and irreverent tone, poking fun at traditional fairy tales and tropes. The film's success can be attributed to its clever writing, captivating animation, and memorable voice acting performances by Mike Myers (Shrek), Eddie Murphy (Donkey), and Cameron Diaz (Princess Fiona).
The Enormous Crocodile
First edition, first printing. Published by Jonathan Cape, London, in 1978. This is a very good copy. There is slight wear to the corners and very slight separation at the top of the spine. There is very slight fading throughout. The original publisher's price sticker is on the rear panel, with the £2.95 net 'in U.K. only' present. Whilst generally clean internally, there is one small previous owner's name on the front fly leaf. Overall, this is a very good copy, scarcely seen in this condition.

Death Comes As The End
Christie, Agatha First edition, first printing. Published by Collins, London, in 1945. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper has chipping to the spine tips and to the corners - mostly to the bottom of the spine. It has not been price clipped and shows 7s 6d. The internal pages are generally clean and with a neat name the top of the front endpaper. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and are generally clean with a little off-setting married to the chipping evident on the dust wrapper. The text blocks are bright and white throughout and free from foxing. This is a very good copy of a fine, rare title. It is the only one of Christie's novels not to be set in the 20th century, and - unusually for her - also features no European characters. Instead, the novel is set in Thebes in 2000 BC, a setting for which Christie gained an appreciation whilst working with her archaeologist husband, Sir Max Mallowan, in the Middle East. The novel is notable for its very high number of deaths and is comparable to And Then There Were None from this standpoint. It is also the first full-length novel combining historical fiction and the whodunit/detective story, a genre which would later come to be called the historical whodunit.- $632

The US edition is remarkably scarce. Walter Tevis's novel, "The Man Who Fell to Earth" (1963), is notable for inspiring the iconic 1976 film adaptation starring David Bowie as the lead character, Thomas Jerome Newton. Bowie's casting in the film helped elevate its cult status and added a significant dimension to his own career. Some rubbing to the edges and corners. Browning to the page edges. A very presentable copy indeed and a more economic alternative to the mega expensive hardcover first edition. 'The Hobbit' was nominated for the Carnegie Medal and awarded a prize from the New York Herald Tribune for best juvenile fiction. It has been adapted into films, starring Peter Jackson, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom. The first edition paperback was a significant publication as it introduced Tolkien's work to a wider and younger audience. This edition featured cover art by Pauline Baynes, who created iconic illustrations that helped define the visual representation of Tolkien's world, as well as C S Lewis' 'Narnia'. The paperback format made the book more accessible and contributed to its popularity, eventually leading to the widespread recognition of Tolkien's Middle-earth universe.- $372
