Artists' book by Jirí Valoch in the form of eight unbound plates that can be rearranged featuring a collection of haikus on the colors green and yellow with the ninth and final plate being the colophon. One of the more notable contributions include Maurizio Nannucci's computer art project from 1971 titled ânine colours' consisting of computer-generated color combinations. Aside from the large folded sheet, our research has not been able to confirm which or how many items were originally issued with no. 13. This lot contains eight items in total including the large folded sheet alongside an artists' postcard by André Morlain, a small card by the publisher, a printed sheet titled âVerticalement', a small white envelope with a handwritten title in ink that reads âon taille une bavette (modèle d'écriture)' containing pencil shavings, two printed sheets, one of which is titled âCristal Cubique' by P. A. Gette, and an appropriated section from the Belgian newspaper Femmes d'Aujourd'hui featuring a dress pattern. Monthly cultural program issued in 1967 in former Czechoslovakia featuring a selection of poetry, concrete poetry, and literary and movie reviews. With a few early and notable contributions by Jirí Valoch, including two concrete poems and a three-page essay titled ânová poezie' written when he was only twenty-one years old. Essay provides Valoch's philosophical perspective on the evolution of language and concrete poetry with references to Piet Mondrian, Eugen Gomringer, Ugo Carrega, F. T. Marinetti, Pierre Garnier, and the Noigandres among others. Essay closes with a mention of Valoch's first collective exhibition ever opening the same month as the publication of the program at the Music Theater in Ústí nad Labem. This example signed by Valoch. At time of cataloguing, this is the only publication of the ânová poezie' essay we have been able to locate online. Very good with age toning throughout, additional toning to first and last page on account of the high acidity in the covers, and faint scattered spotting to back cover.- $220
